Tash Sultana, The Rubens and Anna Lunoe Lead Apple’s Australian Music Month Celebrations
Apple Sydney will host a series of free performances and artist conversations throughout November, with Styalz Fuego and DEVAURA also joining the program.
Apple is celebrating Australian Music Month this November with a series of free live performances, DJ sets and artist conversations at its Sydney store, featuring Tash Sultana, The Rubens, Anna Lunoe and acclaimed producer Styalz Fuego.
Taking place every Thursday evening throughout November, the four-week program will bring together some of Australia’s most established and influential musicians to explore their creative processes, career highlights and the stories behind their music.
Sydney-born DJ and producer Anna Lunoe will serve as host for the series, which begins on November 5 with a special edition of her Apple Music radio show, HYPERHOUSE.
A prominent figure in international electronic music, Lunoe has built a reputation for her high-energy DJ sets and her support of emerging dance music through HYPERHOUSE, which showcases cutting-edge electronic sounds from around the world.
The opening event will feature a live set from Lunoe, followed by a conversation with electronic artist DEVAURA. The pair will explore the evolution of HYPERHOUSE, the art of creating a DJ mix and the influences shaping contemporary electronic music.
On November 12, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Tash Sultana will take centre stage for an exclusive live performance and conversation with Lunoe.
Sultana’s journey from busking on the streets of Melbourne to performing in arenas around the world has made them one of Australia’s most distinctive contemporary artists.
Known for their virtuosic musicianship, soulful vocals and elaborate live-looping performances, Sultana will discuss the evolution of their sound, their creative process and what lies ahead in their career.
The event will also highlight Apple Music’s concert discovery features, connecting fans with live performances by their favourite artists.
The series continues on November 19 with award-winning Australian producer Kaelyn Behr, better known as Styalz Fuego.
One of the country’s most sought-after producers, Behr has worked across pop, hip-hop, electronic music and K-pop, collaborating with major international and Australian artists.
In conversation with Lunoe, he will examine the creative and technical processes behind producing hit records, share stories from his collaborations and discuss his Apple Music playlist, The Producers.
The final event, on November 26, will feature Australian alternative rock favourites The Rubens.
The band has spent more than a decade establishing itself as a fixture of the Australian music landscape, earning chart success and building a devoted following through its distinctive blend of alternative rock, soul and pop.
With their latest album, Group Therapy, now available, The Rubens will perform live before joining Lunoe to reflect on their career, the collaborative songwriting process and their future plans.
The Australian Music Month initiative is designed to showcase the breadth of homegrown talent, from electronic music and contemporary pop to rock and record production.
Alongside the performances and discussions, attendees will have opportunities to explore Apple Music features and discover new ways to engage with Australian artists.
All four events are free and will take place at Apple Sydney from 6pm to 7pm.
