Australian Actor Angus Sampson Signs With Buchwald and Sweeney Entertainment
Australian actor and filmmaker Angus Sampson is strengthening his Hollywood representation, signing with Buchwald and Sweeney Entertainment as his international career continues across film and television.
The Sydney-born actor, whose credits span The Lincoln Lawyer, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and the Insidious franchise, has joined both companies for representation in the United States.
Sampson will continue to be represented by Creative Representation in Australia and Felker, McGinnis & Ryan.
The move comes amid a busy period for Sampson, who has spent multiple seasons playing Dennis “Cisco” Wojciechowski in Netflix’s hit legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer.
Based on Michael Connelly’s novels and developed for television by David E. Kelley, the series has provided Sampson with one of his most prominent international television roles to date.
His film career has meanwhile kept him closely connected to some of Australia’s biggest exports.
Sampson appeared as the Organic Mechanic in George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road before returning to the role in 2024 prequel Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, starring alongside Anya Taylor-Joy and fellow Australian Chris Hemsworth.
He is also familiar to horror audiences as paranormal investigator Tucker, appearing alongside longtime collaborator Leigh Whannell across the Insidious franchise.
Beyond franchise filmmaking, Sampson played Bear Gerhardt in the second season of FX’s Fargo and has appeared in projects including NCIS: Sydney, Our Flag Means Death, The Walking Dead and Taika Waititi’s Next Goal Wins.
Sampson has also established himself behind the camera.
He co-wrote, co-directed, produced and starred in 2014 Australian dark comedy The Mule, further establishing a career that has regularly moved between acting, writing, producing and directing.
His latest representation deal brings him to Buchwald, which operates across film, television, theatre, literary, voiceover and other areas of the entertainment industry from offices in Los Angeles and New York.
Sweeney Entertainment, led by managers David Sweeney and Peter Edwards, works across both artist management and production, with the company involved in a number of film and television projects currently in development.
For Sampson, the new representation adds further U.S. backing while maintaining his existing Australian representation — continuing a career that has increasingly moved between the local industry and major international productions.
