Hamish Blake Enlists Sophie Monk, Andy Lee, and More For New Stan Series ‘Unskilled Adult’

Hamish Blake is putting his practical skills — or lack thereof — to the test in the first trailer for Stan’s new original series Unskilled Adult.

The eight-part series will see Blake joined by a rotating lineup of Australian and New Zealand entertainers as they attempt real-world jobs they have little to no experience doing.

Stan and UA Productions unveiled the trailer on Friday ahead of the show’s November 1 premiere.

Sophie Monk, Andy Lee, Becky Lucas, Anne Edmonds, Melanie Bracewell and Guy Montgomery are among those joining Blake across the season. The lineup also includes Hugh van Cuylenburg, Lloyd Langford, Dom Littrich, Ryan Shelton, Susie Youssef, Bret McKenzie, Lu Dal Din, Alexei Toliopoulos, Jack Post and Abby Howells.

Blake assumes the role of “CEO” in the series, recruiting two equally inexperienced personalities each week to help complete a job for a real client.

Those challenges range from welding a trailer and catering a wedding to drywalling a salami shed and sewing costumes for a community theatre production.

Rather than relying on professional training, Blake and his recruits will have to improvise their way through each task. Once the work is finished, the client decides what the result is worth — including whether the team deserves to be paid at all.

The format marks Blake’s latest television project following a career that has included Hamish & Andy’s Gap Year, True Story with Hamish & Andy and his role as host of Lego Masters Australia.

Unskilled Adult is created and produced by UA Productions.

Blake also serves as an executive producer alongside Tim Bartley, Greg Sitch and Plum Stubbings. Michael Healy and Adrian Swift are executive producers for 9Network and Stan.

The new series reunites Blake on screen with longtime collaborator Andy Lee, who appears alongside Blake and Jack Post in the seventh episode.

The first two episodes of Unskilled Adult will premiere on Stan on November 1, with two additional episodes arriving November 8 before the series moves to a weekly release schedule.
