Marvel’s superhero epic has delivered Australia’s biggest first-day film presale result in five years.

Avengers: Doomsday has surpassed $1 million in Australian ticket presales within its first 24 hours, marking the country’s biggest film presale launch in five years.

According to Disney, the result is also the strongest opening day for cinema ticket presales in Australia this year.

Tickets went on sale Thursday to coincide with the theatrical release of Avengers: Endgame: Encore, which opened at No. 1 at the Australian box office. The special presentation of the 2019 blockbuster includes an exclusive preview of Doomsday, which arrives in Australian cinemas on Dec. 17.

Anthony and Joe Russo return to direct the new instalment, having previously helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz produce.

The expansive cast includes Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Hayley Atwell, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart and Joseph Quinn.

Also appearing are Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta Mejía.

The film will bring together heroes from three distinct universes as they face an existential threat unlike anything they have previously encountered.

Tickets are also available for screenings in Infinity Vision, a new certification for Premium Large Format cinemas that meet designated standards for screen size, image brightness, projection and sound.

Avengers: Endgame: Encore is in Australian cinemas now. Avengers: Doomsday opens nationally on Dec. 17, 2026, with tickets on sale through participating cinemas.
