Zara Larsson Breaks Auckland Arena Attendance Record Twice in Two Nights
The Swedish pop star drew 25,594 fans to two sold-out shows at Spark Arena, eclipsing a record previously held by Linkin Park.
Swedish pop star Zara Larsson has broken the all-time attendance record at Auckland’s Spark Arena twice in consecutive nights, bringing her debut Australian and New Zealand headline tour to a record-breaking conclusion.
The Grammy-nominated singer attracted 12,796 fans to her October 25 performance, surpassing the venue’s previous attendance record of 12,736 set by Linkin Park in March 2026.
Larsson then broke her own record the following evening, October 26, drawing 12,798 fans and establishing a new benchmark for the arena, which opened in 2007.
Across the two sold-out performances, the 28-year-old singer played to a combined audience of 25,594.
The achievement capped a successful run of Australian and New Zealand dates on Larsson’s Midnight Sun tour, which included sold-out performances in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
“Zara’s meteoric rise is unparalleled and a reflection of her talent, her warmth, and the genuine connection she has with fans around the world,” said Live Nation tour promoter Mike Ross.
“Breaking the all-time record at Spark Arena is a rarefied achievement amongst the many legendary names who have played the venue over the last 19 years — to do it twice, on consecutive nights, is incredible.”
Larsson and her touring crew were welcomed to Auckland with a traditional pōwhiri by local iwi Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei, followed by a presentation recognising the attendance milestone.
Spark Arena general manager Mark Gosling said the singer had established a formidable new benchmark for the venue.
“We are thrilled that Zara has broken the house record,” Gosling said.
“It’s great to see artists pushing the boundaries of what’s possible at the arena, and Zara has set a figure that may be hard to beat. Congratulations to Zara and her team from all of us at Spark Arena.”
The Auckland performances followed another career milestone in Sydney, where Larsson played her largest headline concert to date, attracting almost 18,000 fans to Afterpay Arena on October 23.
The Australian leg of the tour began with two sold-out performances at Brisbane’s Riverstage on October 13 and 14, before continuing through Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
Additional arena dates included Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena and Perth’s RAC Arena, with every show on the Australian and New Zealand itinerary selling out.
The record-breaking tour comes amid a significant commercial resurgence for Larsson, whose 2015 breakthrough single “Lush Life” has found a new generation of listeners through social media.
In 2026, the singer placed three songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including “Lush Life,” the title track from her fourth studio album Midnight Sun, and “Stateside,” her collaboration with PinkPantheress.
“Stateside” reached No. 6 on the Hot 100 and topped the Billboard Global 200, further cementing Larsson’s international profile.
Her latest album, Midnight Sun, was created with collaborators including MNEK, Margo XS, Helena Gao and Zhone, and was followed by the remix collection Midnight Sun: Girls Trip.
The project features an all-female lineup of collaborators including Shakira, Robyn, Tyla, Kehlani and PinkPantheress.
For Larsson, the two Auckland concerts mark a fitting conclusion to her first headline tour of Australia and New Zealand, with the singer leaving behind a new attendance record at the country’s largest indoor arena.
