Boyz II Men Upgrade Sydney Venue Following Huge Demand for Australian Tour
Boyz II Men are going bigger in Sydney, with overwhelming ticket demand prompting a venue upgrade for the R&B icons’ upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour.
The group’s previously sold-out Sydney show will move from TikTok Entertainment Centre to the larger Afterpay Arena on Friday, Dec. 4, with a new allocation of tickets going on sale Monday at 10 a.m. AEST. Existing ticket holders will retain access to the rescheduled venue, with the official ticketing agency contacting customers directly with further information.
The upgrade follows strong demand across the Australian leg of the tour, which will see Boyz II Men joined by fellow ’90s heavyweights Salt-N-Pepa and Bell Biv DeVoe.
Shows at Bimbadgen in the Hunter Valley and Sirromet Wines in Mount Cotton have already sold out, while only final tickets remain for the trio’s Geelong show at Mount Duneed Estate. Final tickets also remain for Boyz II Men’s Perth arena date and the tour’s sole New Zealand performance at Auckland’s Spark Arena.
The tour brings together three acts synonymous with the R&B and hip-hop explosion of the late ’80s and ’90s.
Boyz II Men remain the best-selling R&B group of all time, having sold more than 64 million albums worldwide. The group found particular success in Australia with “End of the Road” and “I’ll Make Love to You,” both of which reached No. 1 locally.
They will be joined by Salt-N-Pepa, whose catalogue includes “Push It,” “Shoop” and “Whatta Man,” and Bell Biv DeVoe, who will perform in Australia for the first time. The latter helped popularise the new jack swing movement with their 1990 debut album Poison.
The Australian leg begins at Perth’s RAC Arena on Nov. 26 before heading to Geelong, Sydney, the Hunter Valley and Mount Cotton, with an Auckland performance at Spark Arena on Dec. 1.
The Sydney upgrade and two sold-out winery dates point to continuing Australian appetite for nostalgia-driven live events, with three of the era’s most recognisable R&B and hip-hop acts sharing the bill.
