Suzi Quatro to Return to Australia for National Tour and Red Hot Summer Dates
Rock pioneer will perform headline theatre shows with Baby Animals alongside a run of Red Hot Summer festival appearances.
Rock icon Suzi Quatro will return to Australia this November and December for a national tour that includes headline theatre performances and a string of Red Hot Summer Tour appearances.
Presented by Face To Face Touring, the run will see the trailblazing singer, bassist and songwriter perform six headline dates with special guests Baby Animals, before joining the all-star Red Hot Summer Tour alongside Australian rock veterans including Jon Stevens, Rose Tattoo, The Screaming Jets, Dragon and Choirboys.
The theatre dates begin at Rooty Hill’s Coliseum Theatre on Nov. 14 before continuing to the Sydney Opera House, Hobart, the Gold Coast, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre and Fremantle Prison.
Quatro will then headline four Red Hot Summer Tour events in Brisbane, Lake Macquarie, Torquay and South Australia’s Barossa Valley.
One of rock’s true pioneers, Quatro broke new ground in the early 1970s, becoming one of the first women to achieve international success as a rock musician while fronting a band with bass guitar in hand. Her breakthrough came with the chart-topping 1973 single “Can the Can,” followed by hits including “48 Crash,” “Devil Gate Drive” and the Chris Norman duet “Stumblin’ In.”
Across a career spanning more than five decades, Quatro has sold more than 55 million records worldwide while building a career that has also encompassed acting, broadcasting and writing. Television audiences remember her recurring role as Leather Tuscadero on Happy Days, while theatre credits include London’s West End production of Annie Get Your Gun. Since 1999 she has also hosted radio programs on BBC Radio 2.
Quatro continues to record and tour, releasing her latest studio album, Freedom, earlier this year.
For Australian audiences, the upcoming tour offers the chance to see one of rock’s most influential performers in both intimate theatre settings and large-scale outdoor concerts.
The headline shows will feature Australian rock favourites Baby Animals as special guests, while the Red Hot Summer Tour will showcase a rotating line-up of classic Australian acts, with Jon Stevens appearing at selected events alongside Rose Tattoo, Dragon, Choirboys and The Screaming Jets.
